New Times, Old Beauty

The Liberty-style houses are a stunning example of early 20th-century urban development, built in a neighbourhood where the railway station was opened in 1866.

Le Case “Liberty”

The station transformed the city into a major economic and commercial hub, and the houses reflected the tastes of the emerging industrial bourgeoisie. Their designs, inspired by nature, feature floral patterns and stylised figures, as well as technical innovations of the time. These included the use of new materials and cutting-edge construction and decorative techniques, such as the skilful application of iron and glass.

Visual trap
Supermirror steel on lava stone

Movement, an expression of Art Nouveau, was the inspirational motif of the work which, in its fragmented surface, creates a dynamic system of chiaroscuro and materials. The mirrored steel captures changing light, fragments of space, gestures and glances, infinite moving images that change the prescription of reality where the only persistent element is the identity of the place. The logo is the phytomorphic link of a stylistic testimony.

The work arises from the coloristic and geometric decomposition of the rainbow, colors arising from light, enclosed in intertwined and framed segments to form a dynamic composition in form and color.
