A Living Palace

This captivating building, constructed at the end of the 18th century, became the property of the Candiotti family in 1819. Today, it belongs to the Municipality of Foligno. The main floor serves as the decorative heart of the palace, where grandeur and art come together in spectacular harmony.

Palazzo Brunetti Candiotti (con il Museo della Quintana e la Mostra Impossibile)

The palace is home to the headquarters of the Quintana Tournament Organisation and the Quintana Museum, an interactive multimedia space that immerses visitors in the 17th-century atmosphere of the event. Held annually in June and September, the Quintana is accompanied by a historical parade in baroque costume. The winning district is awarded the Palio, a unique work of art, which is displayed exclusively in its headquarters. With the help of cutting-edge technology, the Impossible Exhibition brings these works of art to life. This innovative display respects the strict tradition of safeguarding the Palio within the sacred walls of the districts’ buildings while making it accessible and ‘possible’ everywhere.

The impossible exhibition collects 13 palii, reproduced in full size (1:1 scale) on high-absorption lumen and ultra-high resolution fabric. To bring out their details, colors and shades, they are slightly backlit. In some cases, minor digital restoration work has been done, while still trying to preserve the authenticity and atmosphere of the time.
Until May 20, 2025, the exhibition can be visited at the exhibition halls of the Trinci Palace Museum.

HHH / HEART, HEAD, HANDS
Lava stone slab, painted with ceramic glazes
cm 55x55x3

Due to the total and very strong psychophysical commitment that every creative process entails, every work of art, deeply nourished by feeling, industriousness and thought, is a pulsating entity HEART, HANDS, HEAD and is always an expression of a network of relationships between the author’s inner self, the viewers and with the context.
This HHH plaque is a ‘compass for Art’, to orient the HEART more to the elaboration of feeling than of emotion, the HANDS more to craft than to task, the HEAD more to thought than to reason, and is placed to indicate the cultural asset of Palazzo Candiotti, with HEART, HANDS, HEAD.
